Since this job was completed I've used Richard at Hydro Gas about 6 or 7 times on various jobs. He has proven to be one of the best plumber and heating engineers I have used to date. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Richard was very quick to contact me, professional, and was able to visit the property to do the work the next day which was great. He sent me photos and called me promptly to discuss issues. The only interesting point to note is that I didn't get the impression he'd be keen to do the work he was saying needed to be done following my boiler inspection.

Richard was extremely thorough on the gas safe certs and one out of the 3 boilers failed because of emissions. In fairness the boiler is 20 or more years old and to repair it would have been stupid. Richard has quoted me a very fair price for buy & fit a new boiler. I will most certainly use Richard again because there are one or two Gas safe tradesmen out there that would have passed this boiler which had become dangerous.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Richard. He advised on what was necessary in order for our boiler to pass the gas safety check, gave us a sound and inexpensive solution to the problem, and completed the work on a Saturday morning not only on time but early! Will be using his services again for any future plumbing work.

Hydro Gas ltd went from quote to completion in a matter of hours. We had a huge gas fire removed and made safe and despite finding a redundant boiler behind it the end price was extremely competitive despite the extra work. Nice guy too. Hope to use again to fit a combi.

Richard was quick to respond to my job with a general quote based on the information provided and his availability. He was able to provide a better indication on the difficulty of the job after I provided him with further details and photos and a fair price was suitably agreed. On the day, Richard was delayed following a gas emergency on a previous job but he was courteous in contacting me to advise he would be late. On arrival Richard along with his son Josh were friendly and quick to assess the work required. He noticed and explained a potential illegal issue in relation to health and safety among the old gas fire pipework to be removed. He reassured that safety first was paramount and explained he would follow a careful process in order to check it. It turned out that the old pipework was fully decommissioned and could be safely removed. The job was completed and everything checked as safe.

Richard arrived promptly and got on with the job efficiently and professionally. He was very knowledgable about gas safety and identified a small gas leak which I was not aware of and which he repaired. He was professional, friendly and got on with the job with the minimum of fuss.

i hired richard because of the reviews, and experience richard is a polite and friendly , he fitted a gas hob and did some pipe work he did a good job and cleaned up after himself, pleased with the work he has done, i would recommend richard to my friends .

We wanted to test out the gas and boiler in a flat we are buying. The property's electricity was on a meter, which was empty, but Richard was able to come back the next day to complete the boiler work once the meter had been topped up. It was lucky we hired him because he had to condemn the boiler due to lethal CO levels! We are trying to get the vendor to replace the boiler and we would definitely recommend Richard to do this if they agree.

Richard did a very speedy job, I thought he was just coming around to take a look and he managed to get the job done on the spot. Despite it being trickier than expected he remained cheerful and persevered and I am happy with the job. It was more expensive than quoted but I was happy to pay as it took longer than expected.
