He explained clearly what needed doing, carried out the work with great care, ensuring the new radiators work properly, and cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. He charged a very reasonable price for the work and I have already asked him to instal a new gas fire for me. I can highly recommend Neil to anyone looking for a plumber/Gas fitter.

    Neil was very efficient and knowledgeable. He diagnosed several problems with our central heating and sourced all the necessary parts and fitted them over a period of days. He was always prompt and reliable, and took time and trouble to explain our system in detail. Our central heating is now working perfectly and we are thoroughly pleased with Neil's work and will use him again for all boiler and associated electrical work. I would definitely recommend Neil as an excellent and reasonably priced boiler engineer.

    Second time Neil has completed a job for us. He was able to come out and quote us on the weekend, in what must have been a busy run up to Christmas, and was able to fit us in on the day requested. Radiator fitted in the kitchen as requested.

    I do not recommend anyone to use Neil Mclaren of MPH Plumbing & Heating based in Bury St Edmunds to carry out work.
    I don't wish anyone to have to deal with the situation I have.

    Neil Mclaren has refused to finish the work having installed some first fix pipework, of which does not comply to building regulations due to it not being insulated.
    Neil damaged new wiring installation and told my electrician not to inform me about it, which is very dishonest.
    Neil delayed his start date by 2 weeks.
    Neil Mclaren has not had any materials delivered to my premises like my boiler, radiators, thermostats, all high value items that I have paid him money for.
    Neil delayed his return to finish the job laying blame on a van that "packed in".
    Neil has taken money amounting to 75% of the value of the quote.
    Neil is not responding to my letters to resolve the situation.
    Neil is in possession of a substantial amount of money of which I am owed as a refund and I cannot see being returned without a long drawn out process.

    Find a local trade person close to your own home and who is recommended by local citizens/neighbours.
    Never pay 50% upfront to any trader for any work.

    Neil will respond to this with claims his packed up van is out of his control, or that I worked the wrong way around and that the process for renovating should be "Electrician, Plasterer, Plumber" (no 1st fix, 2nd fix) or I could not be trusted to pay the final bill however Neil had already been paid 75%.

    I advised how to do job customer got everything back to front so when I gave bill for first fix took 2 and a half weeks to get paid ?
    Then waiting 3 weeks for getting the other stuff sorted please bear in mind we know how the job must run but this did not happen and I was left with a financial loss I decided not to continue knowing full well we would not get paid on time we are now sorting out

    i phoned as soon as i could and this was not for a lucrative job my van had stopped and would not restart so had to call job off this stuff happens rearranged a new date that was confirmed then got cancelled so whos at fault ???

    I can't fault MPH.
    After trying several different and recommended gas fitters i was left in dismay due to being told either it cant be done, not interested in the job or the only way to do it is to fit something i did not want. MPH came and had a look went away researched my options and came up with a solution to my problem.
    Very happy customer.
    I will definatly be using and reccomending MPH in the future.

    Positive - Neil turned up to quote and did the work when he said he would. Neutral - He ran the pipework along a slightly different route to where we agreed meaning i had to adjust my kitchen design to avoid his pipes - but kitchen fitters managed to work around this in the end
    Negative - As soon as he'd completed the work, I was immediately bombarded with demands for payment which continued over several days until i made payment. I found this approach unnecessary, it was aggressive and i felt offended that he thought i wouldn't pay! - I'm always very happy to pay and do not need such harassment.

    there was no defined route asked for and as for payment the service was prompt and i kept to my quote but unforetunately some customers take for ever paying how is this fair??
