About Havant Home & Garden
I have always enjoyed carrying out various home improvement and maintenance tasks around my own house and those of family members. Practical work is something that I find extremely satisfying. Knowing that I was able to achieve good results in this type of work, I decided to offer my services to the wider public.
Typical work that I carry out includes decorating, flooring, garden maintenance (including pressure washing, lawnmowing, fence and shed treating), flat-pack assembly, carpentry, hanging of cabinets and pictures and so on. I will always leave certain types of work to the appropriate specialists, and if I'm not qualified to tackle a job I won't try to, but there can often be odd jobs and finishing touches that need a tradesman who is happy to take on smaller tasks. For example, I visited one customer to adjust and re-fit the plinths in their kitchen after a new floor had been laid. The flooring contractor didn't include it in their work, but it was too small a job to hire a kitchen fitter or builder. In a couple of hours I was able to make the necessary adjustments and make the kitchen look complete.
Although the list above includes typical types of work, a recent project that was a bit different and proved particularly satisfying was the design and construction of a custom bath panel. The customer had a modern bathroom in good order, but the plastic bath panel had discoloured and warped, spoiling the overall look. I made a bespoke wooden panel to fit the gap, and at the customers request included 2 removable panels to allow storage under the bath. Once painted it lifted the whole room as well as providing a practical benefit.
I consider myself qualified for the jobs I take on by virtue of experience, common sense and initiative. I believe that honesty, reliablity and a desire for customer satisfaction are equally important in any tradesperson. Needless to say, if there is a job that requires particular qualifications or certification, I will leave it to the appropriate people to undertake it.
