Wallpaper on one accent wall Painting & Decorating
Gary arrived relatively promptly and was courteous enough. He prepped the wall perfectly fine. After hanging a second vertical strip of wallpaper, it was very obvious that a) it had not been applied correctly (lots of bubbling across the paper) and b) he had not pattern matched the paper.
I asked Gary to fix the issue since it was not pattern matched to which he replied “this isn’t going to work” and decided to down tools and leave. He has also ruined a roll of wallpaper that he has not compensated for. He agreed the pattern wasn’t matched then quickly backtracked.
I appreciate sometimes things don’t work out and I have never written negative feedback about another workman on here. But please stay away from Gary. He even then started to comment that “MyBuilder seems to attract a certain type of client” then went on to say they tend to be cheap and too high on expectation.
Frankly, I don’t take well to being called cheap (never negotiated with him) and I certainly don’t take well to tradesmen not making whole on their agreed works.
No doubt he will comment here in response to say I was standing two cm away from the wall and only then could I make a judgement, but equally this is my home and he has agreed to undertake works to do it correctly. If you can’t do that, don’t do it at all.
Please stay away from Gary and choose someone else.
