Welcome to Focalflames Fireplaces! We are a small & personal family run business covering Dorset, Somerset & Wiltshire that I began in early 2015 after working as an engineer for Robert Neave Ltd for over 15 years. As a school leaver I trained as a tree surgeon for 7 scary years, finally returning to college to do my foundation degree in design & engineering, this gave me a thirst to expand my knowledge & skills in the construction industry, which finally lead me to designing & installing fireplaces. During those years we mainly installed for Mendip Fireplaces & local building firms, slowly developing (through trial & error, as well as blood, sweat & tears!) techniques to achieve incredible installations, where most installers would have shook there heads, I would have the challenge to make it work.

I've always enjoyed the interaction with customers, working hard & to the best of my ability to achieve a first class finish both the customer & I would be proud of. So finally I took the risk, plunging everything into starting up my own business, aiming to provide a highly professional, personal and convenient service catering for all budgets. We have no over heads & aren't salesmen, we are engineers with a huge amount of experience in fitting chimney liners & twin wall systems, with a passion for fires & fireplaces. They are fantastic, cost effective heating solutions for any home, that really give you that warm welcome, I could certainly never be without one & constantly recommend them to my friends & family!

We can install every type of stove, from multi fuel stoves to wood burners & cassette stoves. We can completely change the look of your room, building new breasts with TV recesses and shelves for log racks or even DVD players & set top boxes. We not only do contemporary installations like those but we also do our own bespoke hand carved surrounds, made from Doulting, Bath, or even Sherborne stone, all custom designed to your specifications, designed to be sympathetic to your home, like its always been there.

No chimney? No problem! with modern twin wall systems we can now pretty much put a stove anywhere! As these systems can run through your home they provide additional heat throughout! You can literally save hundreds off your energy bills! while being carbon neutral & sustainable.

We supply all our components & liners at TRADE prices (as we earn our wage from installing not supplying) & can supply most brands of stoves, along with our own showroom right here in Shepton Mallet where we are always very happy to give advice & guidance so you can walk away inspired & maybe even with a new focal flame for your home!
