Since 1993 I have been a fully qualified carpenter and joiner, I have specialised in wood flooring, laminate, solid and engineered flooring since 1997 & THIS IS ALL I DO (I really enjoy the job) also have 2 fitters, trained by me who can assist me on larger jobs. I WILL ONLY LOOK AT JOBS IF I HAVE BIN INVITED. PLEASE ALLOW 2/3 WEEKS FOR FITTING. I am a registered QUICKSTEP MASTER INSTALLER. also Diploma with N.I.C.F. national institute of carpet & floorlayers.

Welcome to Fitters That Care
We are passionate and highly skilled specialists in the installation of wooden flooring.

Based in Knebworth, Hertfordshire, with many years of experience, we have built up a reputable reputation for installing wooden floors throughout Hertfordshire and Surrounding areas.
We are experienced and highly skilled with all types of wood flooring, including laminate, solid wood and engineered flooring.
We also offer a variety of services including sanding, finishing, fitting of skirting boards, maintenance and reparation.
We provide a high quality, professional and friendly service. Our customer care and attention to detail are at the forefront of everything we do.
We’d be happy to help and assist you with any advice you may need in choosing the right floor for you.
I also done the specialist work for 12 local shops, for the last 25 years,
(The shops would still have me work for them any day.)
I choose to stop working for shops as I felt that they all started to supply poor quality materials to get better mark up and profits, as materials have become very competitive.
I WILL GIVE A 25 YEAR FITTING & PRODUCT WARRANTY ON MATERIALS I SUPPLY AND FIT.
I AM A REGISTERED QUICKSTEP MASTER INSTALLER, which means its quickstep that actually covers my fitting warranty and their products.

Claim to Fame: I have done work for Paul Weller, Jermain DeFoe, Ozzie Ardiles, Bradley Wiggins. Also seen on the BBC's DIY SOS.

  • Sand and varnish victorian pine floorboards 1 room

    I highly recommend Gary and his team- they did a fantastic job sanding and varnishing our Victorian floorboards. They are perfectionists and make sure their customer is happy- when I didn’t like the first colour they didn’t hesitate to come back and redo it. There has always been prompt communication from Gary and it is clear he is very experienced and knowledgeable about floors! Highly recommend.

  • Repair/replace water damaged area of laminate floor

    I had water damage to my laminate after I had a new washing machine installed. I had difficulty getting estimates to just replace the damaged boards, but Gary was very helpful, and was able to replace the damaged boards for me. Highly recommended. The professionalism and standard of work was really great.

    Gary gave a really good quote but also came back to me really quickly offering to lay my floor within the week. Paul who laid my floor was great, he was efficient and quick and offered really helpful advice about the best way to lay my floor and finish it off. He left the area really clean and I would definitely recommend
