Extending Homes

I've been in the Building Trade for 40 years. I prepare drawings for Planning/Building Regulations for Extensions & Loft Conversions.I've worked,as they say,on the tools building these projects so I can say that I have the experience to create first class projects at the budgeted price. I can advise the best design on a budget that you have rather than designing something that is out of reach. Being in the Trade for so long I can prepare drawings at a competitive price

About Extending Homes

I left School at 16 and became a Draughtsman, drawing Large Mixing Machines, Aircraft instruments and then to Glass Curtain walling and Roofing. I was interested in Building work so started working for a Builder. Because I was a Draughtsman, he asked me to prepare Plans for an Extension and a Loft Conversion, apply for Planning Permission and Building Regulations. Ended up doing all his applications and worked on the tools as well, which came in handy with the Design side. Working for him I learnt all the aspects of the Building trade. I can do Plumbing, Electrics, Plastering, Carpentry in fact most of the trades. Needless to say I don't do all those, I have a team of guy's that work with me, especially now with all the Planning, Building Regulations and certificated requirements but that has helped to know what is required. Preparing the Drawings and doing the work has taught me how to organise the contracts and helps with the Building Regulations which seem to change from week to week. We build Extensions, Loft Conversions etc. and do all the paperwork for Planning & Building control. All our work is inspected by the Local authority Building Inspectors or by an independant Building Inspector. We work to a contract and have a stage payment system as we proceed with the work and also a snagging holding payment. All Electric, Gas etc. is Certificated.

I'm an older type of Builder and didn't need any but do employ all trades with Qualifications that are required. ie Gas Safety, Electric certificated etc.
