About Ecofit Construction

Ecofit Construction is run by Omid Ghorbani who is a qualified construction manager with a BSc (Hons) degree from Oxford Brookes University, and is a fully
incorporate member of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) as well as
having 15 years of experience in the construction industry. He has managed various projects, the biggest of which to date was a project in Edinburgh worth £4.2m in Ecinburgh. He personally supervises every project to ensure that all are completed on time, within budget and to the highest standard of quality.

  • Cellar renovation

    Ecofit essentially refurbished a small cellar area, involving tanking, adding a cement floor, making good, painting, floor tiling, and electrics. The quote was very reasonable for the job. The cellar is transformed and even better than we originally envisaged. The tiling looks really good. Where bit of painting needed to be improved, Omid arranged this speedily. He inspected the work himself. He also gave advice on better lighting & tiles. Omid and his small team were unfailingly polite, professional, punctual, responsive to feedback, and very good communicators. We will very happily use Ecofit again.

  • Part single part double storey extension

    Ecofit are dangerous, can't deliver a project of size with quality and charge huge amounts of money. Omid Ghorbani gave the highest quote but he was charming - it didnt last. Feedback was good but all small jobs.

    Omid started 15/9/20 - didn't finish in 10 months! Increasingly aggressive/rude as job went on after we asked why work was so bad. Workers swore at us. Added unneeded jobs, charged huge amounts of money and then blamed us for delays. Quoted £154k for the job (60% invoice/40% cash). Chose to do a separate loft conversion for £40k+VAT – total £204k for COMPLETE job. Actually took £314k from us inc several large cash payments, then denied taking any cash til we proved we did. Extorted 88K in last 4 weeks to finish the job but left us in total disarray by giving excuse we were trying to get other builders! Every room is ruined, unfinished, unsafe, plumbing leaked, electrics incomplete, rubbish left both inside and outside.

    Lied he has a 'team' - has 1 worker who does plumbing, tiling, joinery, plastering and rendering. Subcontracts cheap materials and cheap roofers/carpenters/floorers/plumbers- most can't speak English.
    The accredited renderer was himself with no accreditation.

    Some problems listed in subsequent jobs on MyBuilder. Failed Building Control. 2 Building Surveys & a Quantity Survey said work was poor, dangerous and overcharged. Will take almost the same amount to now complete the job. Case will go to court and press. AVOID ECOFIT AT ALL COST.

  • Single storey extension build

    Fantastic job from Omid and his team.
    Very clear pricing and the costs for some changes we requested were clearly given and agreed up front and there were no hidden 'extras'.
    The whole team were really professional, kept disruption to a minimum and were as tidy as possible while working.
    The work was done quickly and except for a subcontractor delaying things, would have been finished early!
    Final result is a really well built extension that is probably better quality than the original house!
    Delighted with the work, would be happy to work with Omid and his team again and would recommend Ecofit without hesitation.
