About revere construction

I started as an apprentice stonemason with English Heritage in 1988 and have been working in the trade for over 25 years.

I have worked on a number of English Heritage properties throughout the North including castles, forts, houses and hadrians wall.

I have also worked on a number of private residences and public monuments including Theatre Royal, Laing Art Gallery and Newcastle Central Station.

I am fully qualified and I'm only one of a few in the North to have gained City and Guilds craft and advanced craft certificates in masonry after training at the Building Crafts Training School, London.

I undertake all aspects of Stonemasonry including restoration, renovation, extensions, repointing, lime pointing, stone repair, landscaping and conversions.

In the last few years I have been asked to undertake more work on brick properties and this now accounts for over 25% of our workload.

We undertake mainly pre 1950s period brick properties but work on any age undertaking repointing, coversions and extensions.

Qualifications

As previously mentioned I am a time served stonemason having served a 3 year apprenticeship in stonemasonry.

I have city and guilds craft and advanced craft certificates in masonry.

I also hold an ONC and HNC in building studies from Newcastle college.

I have also within the last 2 years, undertaken short courses and obtained certificates in access training, HHSRS, electrical awareness and asbestos awareness.
