The guys did a fantastic job removing our fireplace and tidied the area up nicely so we can now decorate the chimney breast and put new carpet down. Very professional and cleaned up after themselves so that there was minimal cleaning and dusting to do afterwards. Would very much recommend them

I'd found it a bit difficult to find someone to do this job but Barry gave a good price and came up from Essex to do it. All done in about 6 hours which included a 2 hour round trip to a supplier in Thetford to get a required adapter part! No mess, no fuss. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Barry and his son to anyone. Barry and Lucas did a fantastic job installing a Hobbit stove into our Victorian fireplace. We ordered a new granite hearth from them but found we didn't need it when Barry uncovered the original tiled hearth underneath!
Barry and Lucas are very easy to have around and did the whole job in about seven hours leaving the place very clean and tidy. Barry's quote was very reasonable and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Our chimney liner had deteriorated badly and needed replacing. I chose Barry as he had really good reviews.
Needless to say, removing the old liner and insulation is a messy job, but i didn't have to worry as Barry covered everything with dust sheets before starting and cleaned up thoroughly afterwards, leaving everything neat and tidy.

We had two fireplaces fitted with wood burning stoves and new hearths. Barry and his son provided useful advice and worked efficiently to complete the job in a timely manner. We were impressed with their professionalism and are really pleased with the finished product.

Very happy. The quote was very reasonable. It was a fairly substantial job removing an old brick and tile fireplace and all the concrete behind to leave us with the original opening. I'm very pleased with my Fireplace and gas fire installation. I was given a online quote and good advice and information on my gas fire purchase. They removed old fireplace and installed new fireplace and gas fire. The mess was kept to a minimum. I also had a chimney cowl fitted.

Our initial enquiry was to fit a chimney liner. Barry and Luke installed our log burner in December. They were very professional and done a really good job from start to finish including advise from Barry at our quote meeting through to ensuring that I was confident in using the burner. With all this cold weather I can say that this was the best investment we have made and just in time for a very warm and cosy Christmas!

Barry and Lucas did a fantastic job putting in my logburner. I cannot rate them highly enough. A belated review for a highly satisfactory job, carried out by Barry and his son. They were more than punctual, as I unexpectedly had to leave the house earlier than the time for which we'd made our appointment. Having called and explained the situation, they kindly arrived early. The work was carried out in approx. five hours, and they left having properly cleaned up after themselves. As yet I've not had need to try the burner, but have no doubt it will work as expected.
I have no reservation in thoroughly recommending them.

The reason I picked Barry Farbridge was because of the all-initial positive feedback I read on this site. Post the multi-fuel stove he installed in my house, I remain a 100% positive and am totally satisfied with the installation. Barry is also good in giving me suggestions about what is/is not ideal and I am grateful for his suggestion and which tells me that not only is he good in his profession, he also upholds integrity and honesty. The reason for saying so is that I have two fireplaces and I always wanted to have both replaced with two log stoves, but after Barry's recommendation, I went for one replacement only, and that saved me from not having to fork out cash twice! The second fireplace that was not replaced with a log burning stove still looks amazing and it is now capable of storing dried kiln logs since Barry made minor adjustments to the fireplace.

If you've been searching this site for someone to open your fireplace and install a log burner, look no further! Barry & Luke from Assured are the guys you need to hire. Unlike other uncommunicative and unhelpful firms, Barry responded promptly and politely, he told us what pictures to take of our chimney and interior, then came to assess the job (free of charge) and told us what we would likely need to have done (to be confirmed when chimney Breast opened up). We were shown a catalogue of stoves, we chose a middle-priced one. On the day they arrived early (8:30), were tidy, made little noise and completed the job by around 4pm. Luke gave me a run through of initially using the stove and they also supplied a carbon monoxide alarm and fire gloves. Brilliant! Had a flue fitted at the start of building works by a company that since went bust. Barry responded quickly and during his visit noticed that something was wrong. He confirmed that the previous fitter fitted a flue and canopy etc for an open fire not a multifuel stove. He also confirmed the damage left on my flaunching etc. He gave options and thoroughly explained them all. Checked with HETAS what the previous fitter had notified to them – nothing, even though I was given a cert! Opted to have the canopy and incorrectly fitted flue and peripherals removed and a new quality flue fitted and peripherals replaced. Unfortunately, Barry was unable to take this job on at the time but a huge thanks to him for raising the red flag. Truly knowledgeable and experienced. Had the work done by JM Fireplaces, a local HETAS fitter.

Barry swept and lined our chimney, installed a slate heart and a wood-burning stove. His quote was very competitive. Barry was very flexible with our timings, which was fantastic because we had a number of delays due to not being able to find someone to render the insides of our fireplace. Barry made a real effort to find someone for us and we went with a person he found who did great job. Barry also got the stove we wanted for a good price from one of his suppliers. Barry recently installed a fireplace, log burner and chimney liner at my house. After his initial visit, I didn't even bother to go anywhere else because I knew Barry was the person for the job! He turned up on right on time, and got on with the installation. During this, he discovered that the person who had recently rebuilt my chimney stack, had failed to remove an old gas flue liner. Barry informed me and was then able to remove it after making a small opening in the chimney, making good once complete. Everything has been fantastic from advice on products, being available to answer questions, through to the installation. Absolutely fantastic. The quality of work is great, and the living room was clean (with no dust) by the time I had returned from work.

Barry did a great job installing our cast iron, Victorian fireplace. He came round to give us a quote, then returned to do the job within a week or so. He seemed very knowledgeable about fireplaces, safety issues etc. He did a neat job, including some brickwork / plastering around the fireplace as our opening was too big. Barry and Luke has transformed my ugly dated hole in the wall into a gorgeous fireplace and thus transformed my living room into a warm and cosy pad. Barry completed the job earlier than his estimated date and we are now able to enjoy our new wood burning stove this winter. I thoroughly recommend Barry. He and Luke fitted a woodburner and oak beam mantle in my living room. Communication with Barry in advance, to arrange a quote, negotiating over the scope of the work and then my purchase of the stove was excellent. During the job (which took a day and a half), Barry and Luke were professional and courteous at all times. They dealt with an unforeseen problem, with the flue pipe not fitting down the chimney at first, very well, making good a hole in the wall in our loft where bricks had to be removed to feed the liner down. Barry and Luke tidied up very well when they had finished installing the stove, hearth and mantle. They set a fire in the stove and demonstrated its operation before they left. Due to my fireplace and fire not being compatible with one another (thanks to B&Q), I felt that the installation might not go ahead today. The working area was well protected by dust sheets etc, and all rubbish taken away by them, leaving my front room spotless. I had 101 questions and he answered every one of them and provided great additional advice and options.

I had purchased a refurbished cast iron fireplace and Barry offered great advice and alternative solutions for a cast iron shelf that was originally missing.

Once we agreed on the job, Barry was very flexible on alternative start dates.

The works was performed very swiftly and to a great standard. The waste rubble was neatly stacked ready to be collected for waste recycling.

My husband and I, having reached a decision to install a duel burner in our home spent many hours researching the regulations etc before putting the job on my builder. Thankfully for us, Barry responded to the advert.

On his first visit he carried out measurements and did general checks to deem whether it was possible. We then discussed designs and products.
