    Having been let down by original roofer I contacted 'My Builder' and Aspin Roofing Specialists replied quickly. They listened to the concerns I had and very quickly sent a specialist to inspect the roof of my house. I had heard that you should never trust a builder that was immediately available however on this occasion the opposite applies. They were courteous and efficient. With it being a roof leak it did take several attempts to find and cure the leak. Each time I made contact with Danielle she arranged for Sal to attended the issue very quickly and I am delighted to say they have done a great job. Too many people complain about bad service and too few remember to praise after the work has been done. Top Job Aspin Roofing. Would I recommend them? Without question.

    Good job done by Aspin overall.

    GOOD: The guys were great and worked with us to get all of the details / look we wanted. Very friendly guys and worked hard to make sure the job was done right.

    Danielle’s customer service was really great too, she was very courteous and nothing seemed like too much trouble.

    BAD: 1 day they did not clear up our back garden, so our builders we hired could not get to work on the extension when they arrived which was frustrating.

    There was also little care taken for the stone work we just had restored and windows on the front of our house, so there were many chips we had to pay to get fixed after they left.

    We WOULD recommend Aspin though, despite the couple of hiccups, they got the job done. 👍

    Had a leak around velux window and along edge of wall in house extension to rear of propery. Soffits were also deteriorated and needed replacing. Plants had overgrown there. I was told that a new roof would be required over rear of property and tiles would have roughly 4 years life in them in areas where there wasn't a leak around velux. Guys came out and started on job. Different team to those that did the estimates, so had to reaffirm what the job was (to replace whole rear roof vs around velux). They were polite and hard working, and I appreciated them popping by on days they were unable to work due to poor weather to inform me. Roof tiles, timbers, felts, veluxes (2), soffits replaced at rear of property 13.5m2 for £5100. Company use their own scaffolding which may help with costings. Roof looks tidy and nice, inside the building around the velux looks messy, although so far so good is water tight and will required a skilled plasterer to build up the frame so that the holes and cracks don't have gaps, the reveals inside the velux will need to be built up and plastered due to damage done during installation and painted by a decorator which I would have expected vs the plastering job (it's a high and awkward ceiling) at cost to me. So do forward in these extra costs when planning a job like this which can be considerable. In general would recommend but also be aware the roofing company don't in house plaster or build up frames .

    Thanks for Aspin Roofing company to complete the re-roofing job with satisfactions in many ways. The price was negotiated with some reduction at the beginning, but due to the extra work of rear chimney, the final cost is almost same as they asked initially. The job started on time. I am happy with it. There was a small accident in the middle which caused a bad leaking inside house in a heavy rain, but I am glad that they did the repair work inside my house after accident happens. Hope it will be no more leaking after the work completed now and for next many years. I am happy in general with the communications between me and company, just little confused with rear chimney work which came out an extra cost and was not informed me clearly. I would like to express my grateful to the company office staff who dealt my concerns kindly and carefully most of times. Appreciate very much for the roofers came back to complete some small work which I have pointed out just before the job completion. Appreciate the 10 guarantee of reroofing work was added in the invoice. Hope my roof will be water tight for the next of many years. Many thanks again for the good job done by the company.     David's team have fully replaced our bungalow roof. This was to include guttering etc. We are very pleased with the end product. The team were polite and hardworking. Whilst the work took longer than we had hoped, this was largely out of their control. I have thanked David, who personally inspected the finish. I liked not paying anything until we were happy and the team having the flexibility to accommodate a few extra bits into the quote.     David and his team have done a really good job replacing an old corrugated garage roof with a brand new EPDM rubber roof.
    The quotation process was easy, a call was made to arrange and they came right out. Unlike other people, they seemed interested in what I wanted done and they took lots of notes and measurements meaning I had faith that they knew what they were doing.
    The quote wasn't the cheapest but sometimes you get a feeling about someone.
    The work was scheduled to begin on Monday 12th, but due to the poor weather it was postponed until the 15th Oct (I had a call every day to inform me of the delay). When David's team began, they worked hard for about an entire day to ensure the work was completed in one day rather than being spread over 2 as originally thought.
    The site has been cleaned and I've inspected everything they've done and I'm delighted with the quality of the work.
    I'd recommend David and his team highly.

    After a little confusion regarding the installation date (the windows apparently were not in stock at the supplier) they guys came and installed the roof windows I had ordered.
    I have to say the installation went very well, the installers were polite, professional and knowledgable, made short work of installing the windows and cleaned up outside after themselves. They even unblocked a gutter while they were there.
    The reason I have left it some time to leave feedback was to see if there were any leaks when it rained, and I am very happy to say there were not.
    I would have no reservations in recommending Aspin roofing and should I need any other roofing type work on my property I will certainly be asking them to quote.

The chap who came to view the job took the time to explain to me what would be needed and the problems that we had, he advised what the best way forward would be. The two guys who actually came to do the work was great. They have done a fantastic job and the roof looks great. Damien, the roofer, although young is obviously a craftsman. He took photos of his work to show me what he had done and and he takes great pride in his work. I am really impressed with the standards provided by the company. As the job was progressing Damien would take the time to show me by walking me around to show what was going on which really impressed me. In these times of crisis, given the virus epidemic, these guys came to my needs and did a first class job for me and I am very happy.

    Aspin roofing specialists were quick to come and cary out the roof repairs at the beginning of February. Since then we have had storms Ciara, Dennis and Jorge and there is no sign of water leaking into the attic. So an effective repair. Only reservation I had was the cost which was £650 for less than 1/2 day work.

    We were very happy with the end product but it started to go slightly wrong after the acceptance ring the quote. Our work was schedule for the 21st May 2019. Sunday we returned from shopping when a neighbour informed us the scaffolders had been and left as we weren’t there. At no point were we made aware that the scaffolders were due to call. Immediately sent a message to the company querying this. Following day we still hadn’t heard anything so I emailed. We could not get hold of anyone by phone all day. We eventually heard back Monday evening the day before work was to commence to say it would now be the scaffolders coming on 21st with work being done 22nd. Wasted day of annual leave on 21st. 22nd comes around where I receive a message in work the roofers has damaged next doors car by knocking a light off neighbours on to their Mercedes. The attitude given by roofer was appalling but he did later apologise. Attitude and due care attention followed by an upset neighbour left a really bad taste

    If you want a nice bumpy "flat" roof this is the company to hire. Was told that it would go flat when the weather warms up but its got even more bumps in it now. Been trying for two weeks to get an answer from them but they refuse to answer the phone when they know you have an issue and wont answer facebook messages either.

It was fully explained to you that rubber roof is glued with PVA glue to the wooden boards and forms it’s own suction. Changes in the weather such as extreme heat will dry out the glue and cause natural blistering. This is why we always recommend fibreglass instead. We are always happy to rectify any problems and have many happy customers as you can see from our long list of positive reviews. The vent problem above a toilet had been fixed by another contractor in the short time after leaking but had to return to Swansea area do couldn't quote me on skylight window issues. Because of the pitch of roof Dave s son couldn't guarantee new tiles to be water tight at 11 degree pitch

    Unfortunately I’m unable to recommend Aspin Maddocks roofing based on the work completed on my property.
    The new guttering does not work and our roof is now leaking.
    Water is running behind the new guttering and down the wall, this is because the gap between the tile overhang and gutter is too big, we found out yesterday this is due to the new fascia board being attached to the old rotting board (I was told the old board would be removed) this prevented the gutting from being attached it the correct position - damage was also done to my neighbors fascia board which I have been asked to pay for.
    The lead valley to annex was removed and replaced. However, after having someone look at it due to the leakage we have discovered it has not been attached properly or sealed which has allowed water to leaking in for a few months and caused damage to the property, the new electrics and now the internal paint work.
    A number of roof tiles have been damaged aiding further leaks.
    Our window was also damaged while they were passing a ladder through it - we are now unable to open and close it properly.
    The new down pipe was attached to the wall by screwing directly through the pipe into the wall rather than using proper fixings.
    A dry verge was attached to annex, two builders and an electrician have all commented on it being a “real cowboy job” . We have now been told its installation has caused several hundred pounds worth of damage to to the roof.
    Aspin Roofing Specialists Ltd's reply:

    Thank you for feedback however, we think that it is highly unfair. Firstly, our job only consisted of doing the guttering and fascias to the front and back of the property and lead work to the back of the annex which was only a cover flashing not a valley. The clients were advised that the original fascias needed changing but to save cost they decided that they wanted the new ones attached to the original ones. The customers requested capping board which covers, in this case, existing (rotting) fascias instead of Jumbo board which would replace the old ones. This decision was made purely to save on cost. The client is renovating the property to sell on and is trying to get it done as cheaply as possible ignoring all sound advise from our team. We arranged with Sara on numerous times to come back out and review a minor leak on the guttering but she failed to turn up on all arranged dates and times. This review is highly unfair and the use of the term "cowboy builders" is completely unnecessary. We've had brilliant feedback from previous customers and we'd hope that this review is not taken into consideration. We have done everything we can to rectify any problems and have even been back to the property to see that our work is still in tact and has not been changed. While we are deeply disappointed with this review we wish you well with the sale of the house. Aspin Maddocks Roofing.

  • Replace lean to roof

    David from Aspin Maddocks recently installed a rubber roof on our small lean to on the side of the house.

    Long story short, they did a really bad job:
    -joists weren't installed correctly or at the right spacing
    -seals around roof were loaded with silicone instead of being sealed properly
    -rubber roof has multiple ripples running down it.
    -frame around skylight was not fitted straight.
    -plasterboards have not been secured properly meaning there will be issues when it comes to plastering the ceiling.

    We had a second opinion and they said the work was to a poor standard and would be likely to leak.

    After multiple requests from Aspin Maddocks, I reluctantly (and probably stupidly) paid them for the job and they have now washed their hands of it. It's a real shame because I trusted them and thought they seemed pretty genuine.

    The job was monitored by your father who is also a builder so i can insure you the joist where installed correctly. The plasterboards are defiantly not lose. We offered to come to the property with our manager to look at any problems witch you accepted and then cancelled. You where asked for payment as it passed what we deemed as an acceptable time after the job was finished and you didn't even make full payment. If you where unhappy with any part of the job we where more than willing to come and rectify. We find this feedback very disappointing and uncalled for. We wish you all the best with your property.
