Ashwood Preservations Limited (APL) was set up 17 years ago in 1996 by our managing director and head surveyor, Carl Wilson. Carl already had over 8 years experience of working in the industry, first on the tools as an installation operative, before training to be a surveyor.

He was elected to The Institute of Remedial Treatment Surveyors in May 1990,
Passed the Examination for Timber Infestation Surveyors in April 1991,
Then passed the Examination in Surveying for Remedial Treatment of Dampness in Buildings in November 1994.

Since starting Ashwood Preservations, Carl has continued to undergo relevant training and holds a Certificate of Assessment from The School of Waterproofing in

General building work

Over the past 17 years, APl have successfully carried out thousands of projects all over the North West of England, and further afield from Northumberland to London. We take on work ranging anywhere from a simple damp patch to full basement conversions. We have also fully refurbished a 400+ year old cottage in Cartmel near the Lake District, waterproofed the basement of the Double Trees by Hilton hotel in liverpool and carried out extensive Dry Rot treatments at the Eversley development in Altrincham. We have worked on some of the biggest houses in Hale Barns and Alderley Edge and have protected the timbers in 200+ year old barns as part of their conversion process.

We have also carried out damp proofing and wall tie contracts on multiple properties as part of large re-development projects in areas such as Openshaw and Moss Side in Manchester.

APL are members of the AAWU (Association of Accredited Wykamol Users) and CGS (Construction Guarantee Services Limited). This means that our work has been assessed and certified as being to a high standard. It also means that we can offer our customers the added peace of mind that comes with comprehensive insurance backed guarantees on top of our standard, company backed guarantees.

We have a small team of experienced operatives who carry out all of our installations, and we also have a list of trusted sub-contractors that we have used many times over the years to handle other areas of the projects we take on, such as plumbers, electricians, joiners and brick layers. We also have architects and structural engineers that we have worked with for many years, so no matter what comes up, APL have got it covered!
