About Andrew Waller
For the last 12 years I've been working for a respectable company in Sevenoaks doing carpentry and general building. This includes all first fix and second fix carpentry, from hanging doors to building roofs, kitchens to floor laying, sheds and decking to joisting and stud work. I also have experience in ground works, from footings to hard landscaping and some experience in bricklaying and stonework too. I'm adaptable to almost all jobs, and over the years have worked in construction in England, Ireland, Greece, France and Australia.
I recently decided to branch out and start up on my own, and after over a decade of great mentoring I can now apply all I've learnt whilst trading under my own name. I have very competitive rates and take pride in my clean and efficient way of working. I keep my clients updated with work progress regularly as I feel it's very important to be kept informed..
When I first got into construction I was given the option of either doing an apprenticeship for three years, which involved working on site for two days a week, and spending the other three days in a classroom, or learning everything on site.
I already knew people who had chosen both routes and I realised you learn a lot of needless information in a classroom, whereas working on site you make mistakes and learn by them. I believe trial and error is a great way to learn and after 12 years I can honestly say I've made some mistakes, nothing too serious, and nothing that I wasn't able to correct, but in the process it's taught me to be a better, more efficient builder, and also it's enabled me to learn more than just my specific trade which is carpentry.
After 12 years of working on different sites, in different countries I feel I have a very good grasp of construction and am more than competent.
