Introduction to A&M
Formed in 1973 as a family-run business. A&M has since grown to become one of the UK’s largest providers of energy efficiency services working with home owners, construction firms, local authorities and energy suppliers to make steps to reduce the UK’s carbon footprint. Our annual company turnover is £46m and we have circa 200 employees across the UK. Through our nine branches, we provide coverage throughout the UK and have carried out insulation measures on over 1million properties and premises since we were established in1973.
All branches are individually managed by an experienced Branch Manager, who has a diverse team working beneath them to ensure that the highest quality services are provided from taking the initial enquiries, to delivering our services within the homes and businesses of our customers. In addition, all A&M branches are ISO 9001 and PAS 2030 accredited.
Our Customers
Approximately 500 – 1000 homes are insulated by A&M every week. A&M has been carrying out work for house builders & RSL’s for over 30 years, during which time we have developed an enviable reputation as a contract/commercial installer with a strong customer base. We also specialise in insulation of commercial buildings such as schools, hotels, hospitals, police stations & children centres. We provide a wide range of measures & services for our long-standing Local Authority and Housing Association clients who enjoy substantial improvements to the overall efficiency of their properties. We have also developed significant and sustainable relationships with all obligated energy retailers.

At A&M we provide a one stop shop for energy solutions. We are able to carry out an assessment of the properties, provide Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) for homeowners, provide recommendations of the measures which could be taken to reduce carbon emissions and reduce energy bills, access any funding available and finally, carry out the required installation. We work by a ‘zero defect objective’ and pride ourselves on delivering the best service, above and beyond what our customers expect. We have a team of specialist staff to support the ECO/Green Deal programme including a Green Deal Compliance Manager and an ECO Compliance Manager. In addition, we will only use quality approved industry materials with names such as Knauf, Worcester Bosch, Baxi, Ideal, Vaillant being just some of the products we use on the work that we complete.
Our commitment to Safety
At A&M we are committed to safety. Across the company, our Health and Safety is managed by the Group Company Secretary, head of SHE and the Group Services department. This department is a central resource which manages H&S policies and procedures, audits, tenders and Quality. As a company we have gained Health & Safety Certifications from Safety Schemes in Procurement and other external organisations: CHAS; SMAS; Safe Contractor; Safemark also Achilies and Constructionline.
