About Affordable construction

We are a family run business with over 30 years experience. We provide the hands on approach with myself and the team fulfilling your construction needs. We have a very loyal client base that appreciates the many trade skills we can offer.

Affordable Construction can project manage New Build Projects , we have a portfolio of 14 new build homes to date. If you are looking to extend your home, an extension or Loft conversion can bring added extra space. We have completed many projects in the local area.

We also take on all aspects of construction including patios, driveways and any form of refurbishments .

  • Extension 5.5m x 3m to rear of bungalow

    Importantly for us, on a project this size was trust, Paul never asked for a deposit and the way in which the Payments were made, gave us peace of mind regarding ‘getting what we pay for’. The final payment was made after building control provided the completion certificate & the snag list was addressed.
    We were provided with a schedule of payments based on the completion percentage of each task, this ensured we were paying for what was done that week, if the footings were 60% complete then we only paid 60% of the costing for the footings, and the schedule was updating accordingly. We could see what was done, needed to be done and what had been paid for.
    Paul was able to provide additional trades such as electrical and structural, had a good working relationship with the BCO, all inspections were completed as expected with no issues, was able to provide contingency plan for issues when changes were required to deviate from the original plan/regs, providing alternative solutions and structural engineers calcs.
    Was happy to work with materials I’d already sourced, I had chosen Korniche Doors & roof Lantern.
    Small team, so longer lead times, but lower overheads, this worked for us because this was funded via our savings, the longer project time allowed us to top up our saving over the duration of the project.
    Drinks too much tea! I didn’t budget for the vast amount of teabags I’d get through Lol.

  • Construction of a detached brick built garage

    Paul of Affordable Construction provided us with a detailed quotation for the construction of a detached brick built double garage. The job was completed to a very high standard and to budget. I was particularly impressed that Paul was able to assess and complete the project without detailed plans. Apart from the Xmas and New Year break and occasional days of bad weather, Paul was on site every day. A job well done!
