As a small building business established over 40 years ago we are renowned for good quality work, at fair prices. We pride ourselves on the positive feedback received as evidenced on MyBuilder, in person & on our website. It is very disappointing when negative comments are made, particularly after we reached a mutually acceptable resolution with Ms Wilson 3 weeks ago, which saw Luma write off the costs of the incomplete work (materials & labour) relating to the skirting. The work involved new flooring & skirting to 5 rooms & was a sizeable job. Unfortunately due to supply shortages partly affected by covid disruption & the Easter weekend, meaning suppliers were shut for 4 days the job overran by 1/2 days. This coincided with Ms Wilson’s moving in date 7/4/2021 & it became apparent by the afternoon with furniture arriving & removal men in & out, finishing the skirting was not possible or plausible. We suggested the door bars, skirting, walls & painting be completed a few days later. Unfortunately, Ms Wilson failed to acknowledge or accept this point; to comment on unfinished work is unrealistic, misleading, and inaccurate. It was unfair of her to deny us the opportunity to complete the work as intended but we accommodated her wishes & recompensed her accordingly so she could get the work finished within her original budget. Regrettably, it appears on this occasion we were not explicit enough in our communications & we will certainly ensure this is addressed going forward.
