Our project was the restoration and decoration of the ground floor of an old Cumbrian farmhouse, which included stabilizing and strengthening the structure and plaster of the ceiling. The upstairs work was similar plus the addition of 50mm of Kingspan insulation board in the bedroom ceilings, re-plastering and decorating and the construction of a studwall in the bedroom to create a through corridor. He has also maintained another rental property, involving wall strengthening, chimney sealing and wall waterproofing. He has also re-roofed some pigsties with plasticized corrugated iron.
The work was of very high quality largely due to the long-term relationships with his craftsmen. All work was completely sympathetic to the age and character of the building and was carried out with great flexibility to our suggestions and the limitations of an old structure. The work was exactly on time and exactly on budget. Strange but true!
Ken's strengths lie in the fact that he listens well, makes appropriate and well informed suggestions and then gets on with the job, fast and to a very high standard. He is very personable and pleasant to have around. Last but not least - he clears up afterwards well.
