Review from Customer of Avonstone Review left on 14 Jul 2014Rating: 5 out of 5Matt did a great job of the stonemasonry on the bay at the front of my Victorian terrace house. He was professional, very helpful in recommending suitable courses of action to fit my budget, and I'm very happy with the result - it looks great and blends well with the older stonework. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Matt for similar work.Review from Customer of Avonstone Customer of Avonstone
Review left on 24 Nov 2013Rating: 5 out of 5Repair bath stonework and re-render front of house
Matt was contacted to remove the existing render and to restore and instate new stone where appropriate. The render was removed swiftly and kept any disturbance to my neighbours to a minimum. On exposing more bath stone that had been covered over by the previous rendering work this was replace or repaired at a competitive price. Some small work needed to be completed after finishing the matt happily to come back an refinish the stone leaving a superb job!Review from Customer of Avonstone Customer of Avonstone

Matt completed restoration of bathstone window replacing sill and repointing existing stonework. Realiable, friendly and felt comfortable leaving house key with Matt for the week. Quote matched price and an excellent job done. I would highly recommend and hire Matt again.Review from Customer of Avonstone Customer of Avonstone

Review left on 5 Apr 2013Rating: 3 out of 5Repointing of Brickwork
Unfortunately, the job wasn't originally completed to my satisfaction as some damaged brickwork / concrete, which I had said I wanted tidying up, was not done so I contacted Matt (as he had already left the property) and requested a revised quote seeing as the work wasn't finished. Matt was very indignant about this and tried to justify his work and I had to argue my point which I felt very uncomfortable doing. The upshot was that Matt came back to finish the job properly, however, he insisted on charging the original quote. After having had to complain and still pay the full quote, it has left a bad taste in my mouth.Answer from tradesperson:
Firstly I would like to express regret that Mrs Edwards was unsatisfied with the service provided by Avonstone. We take all complaints seriously and customer satisfaction is of a highest priority to us . However i would like to point out that the initial quote provided clearly states that the price was for re-pointing of brickwork to front elevation and there was no allowance for any repairs to the area of concrete / brick work on the ground in front garden . Having listened to Mrs Edwards concerns Avonstone agreed to come back and carry out this work for no extra charge . As Mrs Edwards clearly states in her feedback comment, the work was finished properly therefore i consider it right and fair that the work was paid for in full .

Matt did a great job on our front bay and made sure we got really good value for money. We realised we needed a stone replacing which we weren't expecting and Matt sourced it cheaply for us and did the extra work at a good price.Review from Customer of Avonstone Customer of Avonstone

Review left on 18 Dec 2012Rating: 5 out of 5Repointing of external house wall in Bath StoneMatt fully repointed one wall of my Bath stone house and also carried out some minor brick work repairs. Matt was happy to discuss suitable mortars for Bath stone rather than just using ordinary cement as others suggested, and was happy to discuss any other issues. He was flexible in completing the work when some pipework hadn't been moved in time. I felt the price was reasonable for the job - £600 for full repointing of a wall about 6.5m x 6.5m, which included the cost of scaffolding
