Customer description

I’m in the process of buying this property in Marsden (Hudds - West Yorkshire) and is scheduled to complete by the end of February.

Approx 3m x 8.1m rear extension (with bedroom and living area) and garage conversion (5 x 2.5 approx) to side (with en-suite, utility area and retain some garage at front for bikes and tools). I have a rough plan drawn up of what we’d like. I will be doing some of the work myself to keep costs as low as possible with the help of trades for bricklaying, plastering, roof and electrics. We’d like bifold doors in the living space and a window or sliding doors in the bedroom. The house is on top of a steep hill (but stands on flat ground and so will the extension) and has lovely views over Marsden village and Marsden Moor.

The extension entrance will come off the current dining room window. We think a supporting beam to knock through the whole side will cost too much as we also have a gas meter on that wall beneath the sink and we’re not sure if the benefits outweigh the cost.
