New central heating: combi, 6 rads, piping - Gas Work job in Baldock, Hertfordshire

Job description

We are looking for a Gas-safe certified heating engineer who can do a complete change of heating system of our 3 bed semi in Baldock and can self certify his work. The current installation is at least 30 year old thus we want to get it changed prior to decorating. The property will be completely empty and I will remove the old carpet /lift the floorboards to make your work easier. The work will not require plastering or refitting the floorboards.

  1. Currently, there is an old back burner boiler behind a fireplace, 8 radiators, hot cylinder in master bedroom and two water tanks in loft. We would like to remove the old system and ideally to replace it with a combi boiler, new pipes and 5 radiators. Piping is to be chased under the floorboards or in walls. The dining room floor is made from concrete, which will need some digging to lay the pipes.

  2. As per attached plans, we want to convert "bedroom 3" into upstairs bathroom and would like to install the hot/cold water pipework and sewage to the this room. Pipes then needs to be sealed as actual bathroom installation will likely to happen in 2014.

  3. We also want to move the existing kitchen into the dining room and will need to extend the hot/cold water pipes plus the soil pipe.

Our purchase should complete on 26/07 and we would ideally want someone to start on 29/07 or later the same week.

We have arranged with vendors to visit the property on Sat 13/07 and would ideally like for you to come around this day.

If you are interested in this job, please reply with your Gas-safe registration details, estimated labour hours and rate per hour to complete new heating system installation and adapting new bathroom and new kitchen with water pipes and sewage. We could discuss the boiler type and other materials during a personal visit and could agree on a final price for labour.

Many thanks

  • Added 8th July, 2013 : Apologies for a typo. In the text it says that we need 5 rads, in fact it should be 6..

We had Rob installing our new central heating system and removing the old setup. Rob is a discrete hard-working guy who was patient with our requests and made sure that project is finished in time and to a high standard. Will definitely use him again.
