Mineral wall insulation within a bedroom wall - Insulation job in Glasgow, Lanarkshire

Job description

I am a landlord of a ground floor tenement flat (circa 1900) and I have been experiencing moisture/damp problems in the rear bedroom around the window area which overlooks the back garden. I have had a contractor to inspect the property and he is confident the problem is not rising damp but poor ventilation and lack of insulation between the plaster and the sandstone. He recommends that I should organise a joiner to look behind the plaster board to make sure there is no rotten wood/damp issues and then re-insulate with a mineral wall and improve the ventilation by installing new vents etc. I am therefore looking for a joiner/insulation installer to provide a quote, diagnose the real problem of the damp and make the necessary improvements.

The property is currently unoccupied and I am looking to make these improvements as soon as possible, so I can redecorate and rent it out. Any help would greatly appreciated.

Feedback for Russell Preservation

Scott provided me with a very competitive quote to fix the rising damp in my ground-floor tenement flat. After diagnosing the problem, Russell Preservation installed a damp proofing course and plaster membrane in one wall, and foam insulation in the other. They then plastered and painted both walls to a very high standard. All workmanship was excellent and I would fully recommend as they are a great company to work with. Many thanks once again!
