One wall of a small living room in this robust old terraced house has a horizontal band of damp and crumbling plaster across it, discovered when old wallpaper was removed. Below it's sound and above it appears sound. Other walls are sound. Source of trouble not obvious. It may be that everything from the band up will have to be replaced, or maybe just this central band.
