Convert adjacent utility/toilet into living space - Conversions - General job in Colchester, Essex

Job description

  • Property owner

Customer description

I would like to knock a doorway through a chimney breast and outside wall and turn an attached utility room into living space. I have the structural calculations for this so far. The brick work will need to be raised around 3 bricks higher and a suspended floor will need putting in place. A new roof will be needed. I will also need to brick up two existing doorways, and reconfigure an existing one to accommodate the suspended floor. The window will need replacing/possibly reconfiguring too.

Feedback for M.A. SKINNER

Mark is helpful and accommodating. It’s my first project and he’s been there to advise the right way to do the job so the end product isn’t compromised. I’ve changed my mind and ideas along the way, and Mark has been able to help steer my decisions. His skills are only matched by his connections on the trade which is a real bonus for someone like me new to the area. It started off as a small project, and as new ideas have been developed Mark has been able to advise along the way. A proper builder through and through.
