Convert semi-derelict farm outbuildings to holiday lets - Restoration & Refurbishment job in Chard, Somerset

Job description

  • Property purchase in progress

Customer description

We're progressing with the purchase of a farm property that has a single story, a semi-derelict outbuilding that we would look to convert to 2/3 holiday lets.

We'll be at the property again this Fri / Sat, 9/10 Aug and are keen to see if it's possible to discuss the potential costs and receive quotes for the work.

Any guide that could be provided in terms of potential costs would be gratefully received. The outbuildings are currently half stone, half block - the stone part has a tiled roof, the block part has no roof. It's an L-shaped building measuring roughly 25m along the long length and 15m along the short length with a width around 5m.

Plans do exist and I'm happy to meet at the site to discuss. I can also send a photo if a rough guide to potential costs can be provided. Let us know. Thanks

Feedback for L.D.T Carpentry and Building

Olly Peters and LDJ Carpentry and Building Services started a barn conversion at the beginning of Dec 2019 and were completely out of their depth. Olly was 100% over his quote for materials and over 100% over his labour quote. By the end of July Olly had botched and left unfinished countless jobs and expected to hold us to ransom to find additional budget. The finish was poor with an open sewer for drainage, holes in the roof and a floor level over 100mm out. His timekeeping was poor, he refused to accept any responsibility or accountability and didn't answer any of our calls after packing up and leaving. We found him unreliable and untrustworthy. It's therefore not a surprise to see him posting fictitious reviews on Checkatrade for jobs in June when he was on site at our barn conversion, albeit it in body only.
