Improvements to “common parts” wiring - Electrical job in Streatham Hill, South London

Job description

The following improvements are needed to the “common parts” wiring in a 3-storey mid-terrace house, preferably within the next 2-3 weeks:

(1) INTERCOM SYSTEM: We currently have a (wired) 2-way audio intercom serving the 2nd floor flat, and (wired) doorbells serving the ground and 1st floor flats. We want instead to install a 3-way 900 Series Audio Entry System serving all three flats (customer will supply system - description is at http://www.cctv-centre.co.uk/cctv/audioentry.htm).

(2) HALLWAY AND STAIRWELL LIGHTING: At the moment, the ground floor light is controlled by 2-way switches on the ground and 1st floor levels; the 1st floor light by a push switch on that level; and the 2nd floor light by 2-way switches (which do not however work properly) on the 1st and 2nd floor levels. We want instead to use the push switch for the ground floor light, and to have 2-way switches controlling both the 1st and 2nd floor lights.

Quotes should indicate the cost of (1) and (2) separately, and - IF a Part P Certificate is required for (2) - should be from Part P Competent persons only.

This is the 2nd job Ray did for me, and again, he did a good job at a good price. As before, the job took longer to complete than expected (the one aspect of his work/team that does need a little attention), but given all the other advantages (reliability, trustworthiness, reasonable prices, high standard of work, quick replies to emails, prompt and courteous sorting out of any snags), I was more than content. Ray is one of those rare tradesmen who are the exact OPPOSITE of "rogues" / "cowboys", and I'm happy to recommend him.
