Cast iron fireplace to gas - Chimneys & Fireplaces job in Ormskirk, Lancashire

Job description

Hi I am wanting to discuss the possibility of turning an old cast iron fireplace into a gas fireplace. I have attached a photo of the cast iron fireplace and also the hole I have just made in my wall removing the old 1930s fireplace. I wasn't sure how much brick to remove etc so any help would be greatly appreciated. I can have the front bars and grate removed from the cast iron fireplace if this is necessary? Possibly just put some feet on it so it can be used if necessary?

The dimensions of the cast iron fireplace are height 100cm- width 90cm - and the fire opening dimensions are height 62cm - width - 46cm The dimensions of the hole in the wall are width 67cm, height 92cm.

Any help on how to approach this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Rebecca

Feedback for C & G Gas Services

I am so happy with the amazing service I received from Lee. From start to finish he was brilliant. I had a lot of questions about the job, he answered them all and made sure that I understood the process clearly. He managed to find some samples of hearth and sent me pics to make sure I was 100% happy with everything. When Lee carried out the work he arrived on time, got on with the job and didn't leave any mess. The fire is absolutely beautiful and I couldn't be happier. Highly recommend :-)
