Feedback for

We stopped John half way through the project due to incompetence. Our new contractor has had to rectify many of the mistakes he made at additional cost to us.
Project included structural work and then involved gutting the rest of the flat and reinstalling services, kitchen, bathroom etc. We were told four weeks, we let John go after around eight having discovered multiple mistakes along the way leaving us with no confidence.
Some of the major issues:
We paid a third more than agreed on the structural work after John misquoted on the level of steel required to provide support.
Plastering over existing wall paper. We had to point this out to John who tried to cover over, leading to all the walls having to be replastered.
The ceiling was not supported properly, leading to it sagging and having to be redone by a new contractor.
Relevelling of the floor in the kitchen done incorrectly. Later correction to be able to lay flooring properly lost precious height.
Door frames not even installed straight and a pocket door frame to the bathroom rendered unusable after incorrect installation.
New contractor had to reopen the dropped ceiling to fix mistakes, finding a live fire alarm still there.
The site was very poorly managed, leading to many items being lost or broken.
We paid three quarters of the total amount agreed despite him having only completed half of the work quoted for (which he has acknowledged) and all the costs we have incurred since, he is yet to refund us.
