Damp proofing concrete block out building - Damp Proofing job in Winchmore Hill, North London

Job description

At the end of my garden is a concrete building with a flat roof. I had this built in 2001 and have suffered damp problems almost from start.

The main culprits seem to be that it is 9 inch solid concrete block i.e. no cavity and that the building was never rendered. Rendering is problem not possible due to the location of the building - it has fencing on 3 sides.

Inside there is disclouration on the walls and a musty smell. I use a dehumidifier which routinely extracts about 2 litres of water every couple of days.

The building has a damp proof course and no evidence of rising damp and the exterior was sprayed with a solvent by a specialist company but this had had little impact.

The building is apprx. 5m wide by 3m and was intended as a home gym but is not fit for purpose.
