Extend concrete shed base by 1m x 5m and replace fence - Groundwork & Foundations job in Beckenham, Kent

Job description

We have a raised (approx 15-20cm high) poured concrete area at the bottom of our garden with a concrete path alongside and earth alongside that. We wish to extend the raised area so that it covers the path and approx 30cm of earth alongside to provide a larger base for a workshop / shed.

The job is to remove an inch or two of earth alongside the path to allow a gravel fill to be put down, build a wooden form to contain the new concrete and pour the concrete to be level with the existing slab. The area to be poured is estimated 0.2m x 1m x 5m i.e. 1cu. meter of cement.

We need an existing fence panel replacing. This will require 1 new post to be sunk, 2 x Arris rails and 1.2m feather edge boards used to make the fence. Width approx 2m. We'd like either a concrete gravel board at the base of the fence or approx 20cm course of bricks at the base of the fence.

All materials to be supplied by tradesman. We will provide electricity and water.

Note: The site is at the end of the garden which is approximately 40m from the curbside. It is level and there is side access.

Feedback for Immaculate gardens

I was really impressed by Scott's approach from start to finish. He arrived on time to the initial appointment to assess the job, went away to prepare a proper quote rather than pulling a number out of the air like others did on their initial visit. He provided prompt and professional responses to text messages and emails while we finalised the details of the job.

When him and his colleagues arrived to do the job itself, they were again on time, no fuss, got straight to it and kept me informed about progress.

The job was completed to a high standard and Scott accommodated my request to do things in a different order to that which was originally agreed to fit in with other trades. The site was left clean and tidy when they were done.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Scott to others and will likely use him for other work in future.
