The Den in the garden

Nicole Samson

Bedford

We live in a mid terrace Victorian house and therefore have no real storage, so my husband designed a den/ shed/ games room for our tiny back garden to include the space to be long enough and high enough to play darts(!) but without making it too high to be intrusive so he sunk it as well! We overlook a playing field so we still wanted to see that. Now finally it’s finished and he and his mates play music, darts and he also has storage

Super cool, quirky den. Love it!

It is a creative use of outdoor space to include below ground level. It maximises their space without impeding on their neighbours. It also looks like one of the few where a lot has been done themselves. It is functional and not flashy.
