Sam is a great guy and a very proficient electrician, his assistant is very committed, and they make a great partnership. I own a company that specialises in caring and supporting people with enduring and complex mental health illnesses, I required an electric coin meter to be installed in one of the settings. The installation was for a person who is very challenging and was to be attached to his room. I had previously contacted local electricians and explained to them what I needed and the risks involved reassuring them that staff were on hand and the risks whilst very present should be well managed they all without exception declined the job it was after this that I turned to my builder and found Sam. After the initial call Sam arrived the same day with his assistant to carry out his survey, I explained the risks to him as I had to previous electricians and he was not phased I repeated the situation i.e. the job had to be done every quick with minimum intrusion to the resident, I asked Sam if any cutting etc could be done elsewhere so as to limit anxiety on the resident and if he felt ok, Sam was calm agreed he understood the risks and would formulate the best plan and let me know, in truth I thought he had walked away like the others the next day however Sam called told me when he was coming and said he had a clear view of how to do the job minimising stress to the resident and the staff basically the plan was careful planning. Sam came and done the job with his assistant within 20 minutes the meter was on the wall and cables ran, we all held our breath when Sam entered the residents room to do some checks but we were astounded the see the resident being relaxed and reassured around them both Sam got on with the job whilst lightly chatting to the resident and explaining what he was doing then they cleaned up wished the resident well and left indeed when Sam left the resident actually asked us if Sam was staff and was disappointed he was not.
I asked Sam if I could include him in our emergency contact lists and he readily agreed, I advised that when on this list we would expect him to respond as a matter of urgency he again agreed and proved this to me when a fortnight later we had a total loss of power due to a dodgy cable connecting our koi pond I called Sam in a panic and he literally arrived within two hours fixed it giggled at my panic and left, I found Sam and his assistant very efficient and focused, Sam didn't come 'just for the money' he deeply assessed the risks and clearly wanted to help us when others wouldn't, they even sat in their van for lunch.
Sam really does deserve to win this competition he is a genuine and compassionate young guy who obviously relishes a challenge, Sam’s prices BTW were as were below or budget some other quotes were double the only way, I can show my genuine gratitude is by paying his invoices the same day which as being a young start up I know he appreciates.
If anybody else has similar settings to mine don’t hesitate to use Sam and his very able assistant of course, he really has the 'flavour' of what is needed in such settings as ours.
