I thought I had it fixed in my head exactly what I wanted for my bathroom until John came along. A lot of non-tradespeople see their intended room as bigger than it actually is and function sometimes takes a back seat to how it will look.
We were removing the bathroom completely and replacing the bath with a walk in shower. John came up with different options on the WC, sink, taps, etc....who would've known there was so much choice. Once we settled on a style we discussed the position of the items and how it would look. Then for the walls....I had my mind set on part paint and part wall panels but after discussion with John regarding their ease of cleaning and future replacement (if required) we decided to panel the full bathroom. Our only sticking point was the ceiling which he recommended we should use strips between but I stuck to my idea and said no I wanted it plain. He had his doubts but admitted once it was done that it looked very good.
The work was carried out in a more than reasonable length of time considering he works on his own, which meant minimal disruption to our busy family house. The standard of the finish was so good that a friend actually commented that it looked like a very posh hotel bathroom which was a lovely compliment. John included little things that we never thought of like a shelf in the shower to put shampoo etc on, soft close cupboard doors and a colour co-ordinated top on the unit to tie in with the wall panels.
It has been a year since our bathroom was done and we still love it. In fact we appreciated John's work ethic and standard that he also completed a kitchen re-fit for us shortly after the bathroom.
