Without doubt Richard Payne should be nominated for job of the year, the reason I think and support this award is down to fire safety and making good and safe other electricians previous work and mistakes. Having just completed a garage conversion, the wiring to the range cooker was beyond unacceptable and should of never been allowed to happen, basically the previous electrician thought it would be safe and reasonable to fix a normal 13amp plug to my range cooker and plug it in under my kitchen units in to a normal 3 pin socket, if I ever tried to switch on the oven and grill at the same time then the whole kitchen would trip out. Richard on inspection immediately identified that the correct wiring procedures had not being adhered to and my property “had I not of contacted Richard” was at serious risk of fire due to the way my range cooker was wired, not only that the wiring from the range cooker to the 13amp plug became severely hot when in use. Richard explained that the whole range cooker should have been hardwired in to the main circuit board because the amount of power required for a full operating oven. Richard then went on to explain what works would be required to make safe the appliance and ensure sufficient power is getting to the ovens/grill so they can be operated all at the same time, Richards biggest challenge was how to hardwire a range cooker from one side of the kitchen to the complete opposite side of the kitchen where my fuse box was located, Richard explained how this would be achieved and I was blown away by his knowledge and how neat he wanted the job to look on completion, having giving me a price to make safe and good I immediately accepted the offer, Richard then said that due to safety reasons he will pencil in my property as a priority and would complete the job 4 days later, true to his word the job was completed and to my surprise you could not tell if he had been or not due to the neatness and tidiness of his work. Following the Range cooker installation Richard has been back to my property to install LED lights in my bathroom as well as a spotlight, I will invite Richard back again this year to install various sealing lights that I have recently purchased.
