Conservatory

Sheffield

I employed Michael Parkin to fit a conservatory. During the course of him fitting it, I was badly let down by two other tradesmen. One was going to fit a new kitchen and the other tiled my bathroom floor but made a horrendous mess of it.

The previous kitchen fitter had been paid half the money so Michael fitted it for me at a very reasonable rate. I'm a single woman who lives alone and know that it concerned Michael from a finance point of view for me.

At this point, I hadn't had a kitchen for about 3 months and the whole of my home was housed in the living room, including the new kitchen!

Michael fit me into his very busy schedule and fitted the kitchen for me. He did an excellent job. He custom-made a cupboard for me to house the boiler. He took me to the kitchen supplier and worked out and sourced what I needed for the boiler cupboard. He also tiled the kitchen floor that the previous kitchen fitter was supposed to do, suggesting colours for the grouting for the wall and floor tiles and tiled right through the conservatory. His craftsmanship is second to none and he has an artistic eye for colour etc.

He got his skilled men to quickly come and do any electrical, plumbing and gas work to minimise any delays, fitting me the hob and oven, all my light fittings, washer and additional plug sockets.

He also brought some skirting board and fitted it, free of charge as well as making two fabulous steps from the conservatory to the garden. He gave me lots of advice as well on totally unrelated work I was planning to do.

I had a new fireplace fitted and he cut the skirting board for me to make it fit better, again free of charge. On more than one occasion he picked supplies up for me all at no extra cost.

As well as that he took up the bathroom tiles that the previous tile fitter had put down and relaid them for me. He also fitted me the shower screen. He did the extra work very quickly for me and I'm sure didn't charge me the full price he normally would have because he was aware I'd already paid money out. He worked long hours and weekends to complete the work as he knew I was putting the house on the market. When all the work was done he even helped me put all the furniture in the conservatory!

He also followed up the work to make sure I was satisfied with it and if there were any issues that needed addressing.

Michael's primary concern is that his customer is completely satisfied with the work done and will go out of his way to ensure everything is just right. The finished product looked like something out of a magazine and was a definite selling point which delighted the prospective buyers.

Michael listens to what you want, makes suggestions as to whether it's possible or any alternatives that may suit better. I couldn't fault his work or his dedication and energy to completing the job and I know I wouldn't have got the help I got from any other tradesman.

I've now moved and will be using Michael to fit me another conservatory and for other work I need doing. He's a gem among tradesmen and someone I would always use for any work I need doing.
