Job of the Year

Huge congratulations to Ellouise Hempstead and her MyBuilder tradesman Martin Robinson of MJO Limited, in Lincolnshire.

Ellouise nominated Martin for the expertise, dedication, energy and generosity he brought to her challenging renovation project.

“Martin has taken our dream and made it his own. He’s worked with us to understand what we need, what we want, and what we’d love (but don’t think we can afford) and he’s helped us to make those things a reality. He’s an honest and reliable builder, who cares about his customers, and wants their project to be a success.”

New bathroom required

Kendal

Shane answered his mobile on the day before his wedding, in the middle of a full rehearsal. He dropped everything and was round to us within ten minutes. A washer had failed under our new bath, but rather than call in a favour from a mate, Shane insisted on sorting it straight away himself.
This was absolutely typical of the level of customer service we experienced from Shane and all his team throughout the installation of our new bathroom. In less time than it took us to pack our bags for a week away, Shane had the old bathroom suite and tiles removed, ready to crack on in our absence. When our new basin arrived with a slight flaw, Shane dealt with supplier directly, and then installed it anyway so that we would have a working sink, even though it created more work for him to remove it later and fit the replacement. Shane kept us fully updated with his progress over the week and we came home to a lovely new bathroom.
The other tradesmen were equally committed to providing excellent service. The joiner was juggling daycare of a very newborn baby but still worked to a very tight schedule so everything went to plan, and the electrician answered all of our late night calls when changes to the original plan were required. There was no problem when we asked if the tiler could use any spare tiles to replace the splashback in our downstairs loo. When Shane was finishing off the job he was happy to give me advice and a bit of a tutorial so that I could do some other bits of DIY elsewhere around the house.
Shane’s years of experience were evident in his workmanship, but what was most impressive was his management of the project, particularly given that he has only set own on his own relatively recently. He deserves recognition for this job, and I’m sure his business will thrive from word of mouth, and the many other positive reviews on mybuilder.
