Conservatory door lock and handle broken

Dundee

When my mother-in-laws door lock broke and she couldnt find anyone to fix it, I stepped in to help and turned to mybuilder.com - the only place where you are almost guaranteed a reliable tradesman at a competitive price.

This is where I met Barry Laker of Laker Locksmiths - a skilled locksmith with a kind heart, and this is why I nominate him for Tradesman of the year! I can't think of any other tradesman in the country who would deserve it more.

Out of all the tradesmen that I have dealt with over the years, on (and off) mybuilder.com, Barry Laker stood out as being the absolute model tradesman. Like I said in my review all these months ago, "if only every tradesman could be like him!" This is why I am taking the time out of my busy schedule right now to let you know about him.

I hired Barry Laker using the free, and extremely easy to use mybuilder.com website. My mother-in-law had tried in vain to get several local companies to fix her broken lock. She was extremely worried and concerned about the security of her house because it was broken and couldnt lock. However, most of the companies she contacted were not interested in such a small job, and those that said they were, didn't turn up as agreed or quoted ridiculous prices - one company even suggested a new door! My mother-in-law felt it was hopeless, so I decided to help!

Thank goodness for mybuilder.com and Barry Laker! With just a few clicks I posted the job and shortly after, Barry got in touch using the easy to use messaging system to say he could pop round the next day to see the job. I could see on his profile that he had good feedback and decided to proceed.... that was easy!

The next day, much to my mother-in-laws delight and amazement he was there exactly when he said he would be! He wiped his feet, came in and took a good look at the lock. Unlike the other companies, he was so open, friendly and honest - it turns out the lock only needed a small simple part fitted, he fixed it there and then, which took around 20 minutes. To my mother-in-laws further delight, it only cost a fraction of the price she expected! The next day, Barry even sent me a quick text to thank me once again for the business! How nice is that?

Since having Barry Laker fix the lock I have used mybuilder.com for all my jobs - why would you go anywhere else? You are guaranteed to find a trustworthy tradesman who is happy to provide excellent service and a competitive quote! It's the way the website is designed!

Thank you Barry once again for fixing my mother-in-laws lock and doing it with such professionalism. Probably one of your smallest ever jobs... but its the little things that count - isn't it? :-)
