My husband and I are not the sharpest tools in the box when it comes to DIY and Home Improvement and often rely on our parents for when we take on things that require a lot more skill than we have to offer. Our most recent project is our kitchen and one job no one could help us with was the tiling of our walls. I joined MyBuilder and found Andy. He responded on the same day of me posting online and then came to visit us that evening. He asked lots of questions about what we wanted and also gave personal recommendations based on the kitchen, the tiles and the decoration we had. He made us feel at ease and wasn’t at all pushy which was really important. He came back to us with a price that evening and we took him up on the job.
He completed the job over 3 days and during his time in the house he worked very efficiently, he turned up on time every day and was also very conscious about how tidy he was as well. His attention to detail was exceptional and by the time he finished the kitchen looked absolutely spot on.
When he was completing the work we talked to him about us considering changing the tiles on the kitchen floor. Using his knowledge he recommended a number of different styles of tiles for us to look at. Just after Christmas we found the tiles we wanted and gave Andy a call. He came around at a time that suited us and measured up the kitchen floor space and he talked us through step by step exactly how many we needed, why we needed that amount, the various finishes he recommended and how he would lay them out. Again his attention to detail was amazing and again he came back to us quickly with a price. After the work he did on the walls we have again hired him and he is back with us doing the floor in February.
Andy goes above and beyond and puts his own personal touch on things. He is down to earth, makes you feel at ease and very personable. His standard of work is exceptional. He is a great reason as to why sites such as MyBuilder exist and help people who like my husband and I are not great when it comes to all things DIY!
