Nathan emailed me quickly once the job was advertised online. Once selected to carry out the work, he 'phoned me to arrange a visit to assess the job and arranged to visit during the early evening. Nathan was punctual and went around the building to access the patio doors via the gardens at the back, rather than enter and walk through the flat, which was considerate of him, particularly as he is a young man. As I wanted the job done as soon as possible, Nathan agreed to come out on a Saturday morning. Nathan emailed me prior to his visit to confirm his arrival and brought with him a selection of paving slabs to ensure a match with the original. He was punctual and parked in the visitor's car park as the signs request and wheeled his materials and tools down to the flat in a wheelbarrow. (Most workmen park on the roads by the rear of the flats, which can block access and cause problems for other residents as these are retirement flats). Nathan was courteous and sociable throughout. He carried out the work carefully and efficiently and although I made him a cup of tea he stopped for minimal time to drink it. Nathan disposed of the surplus soil onto my flowerbeds at my request. he mixed the mortar and laid the footings, the bricks and the slab without making any mess and when the work was finished, he cleared up and left the area in an excellent, clean condition. He said he would contact me again and the next day he emailed to ask if I was happy with the work. Much better than confrontation on the day, when you feel you have to say yes.
I was very impressed with Nathan's standard of work and his attitude, his reliability and his communication. Very important for me as an older female living on my own. I would definitely use Nathan again and recommend him to my friends and neighbours.
