Huge congratulations to Ellouise Hempstead and her MyBuilder tradesman Martin Robinson of MJO Limited, in Lincolnshire.
Ellouise nominated Martin for the expertise, dedication, energy and generosity he brought to her challenging renovation project.
“Martin has taken our dream and made it his own. He’s worked with us to understand what we need, what we want, and what we’d love (but don’t think we can afford) and he’s helped us to make those things a reality. He’s an honest and reliable builder, who cares about his customers, and wants their project to be a success.”

We moved house when my wife was 34 weeks pregnant to a larger house for our expanding family. To be able to afford a larger house we moved to one which needed some work doing to it but was liveable. What we didn't realise (and wasn't picked up on a survey) was that the toilet and shower upstairs were leaking into the kitchen! We had planned on refurbishing the bathroom after the new baby was born anyway so we thought we would go ahead and try to do it beforehand. Unfortunately the whole central heating system needed to be upgraded at the same time which included replacing 6 radiators and fitting a new cylinder. We didn't have any idea where to start so found Lee on MyBuilder. He came and gave us a quote to start shortly after and do this within 3/4 days. The day he started the cylinder (delivered by the local plumbers merchant) was damaged and had to be sent back so he had to start the next day. He was very efficient and helpful in managing this. When he started the next day his apprentice had injured his elbow and had to stop after a day so Lee had to finish the job alone. Later that week my wife went into labour early and our son was born during the night. The hot water had to be turned off and the system drained to fit everything. Not ideal with a toddler and a newborn baby during winter in Sheffield. Lee understood this and set out to do it as quickly as he could. From then on we travelled to family in Manchester every day and came back in the evenings to find Lee working tirelessly (including on the Saturday). This meant we only had a few days disruption until we had hot water and heating again. It also meant my family visiting from Australia could stay with us to see the new family member. Lee was efficient, professional and honest. Due to problems which were out of his control the work took longer but Lee didn't deviate from his original quote. A week after the job was done one of the radiators was leaking due to a defective end cap. Lee came the same day and put a temporary fix on this then fitted the new part as soon as the company delivered it. We couldn't be happier with the work he has done. We can only imagine how cold and difficult our winter would have been if we hadn't found Lee
