Job of the Year

Huge congratulations to Ellouise Hempstead and her MyBuilder tradesman Martin Robinson of MJO Limited, in Lincolnshire.

Ellouise nominated Martin for the expertise, dedication, energy and generosity he brought to her challenging renovation project.

“Martin has taken our dream and made it his own. He’s worked with us to understand what we need, what we want, and what we’d love (but don’t think we can afford) and he’s helped us to make those things a reality. He’s an honest and reliable builder, who cares about his customers, and wants their project to be a success.”

Renovating a period property

Nottingham

Where do I start! We relocated and didn't know any tradesmen in the area to renovate the very unloved property we bought. It's a gorgeous double fronted Victorian detached and we were keen to restore it to its former glory.. adding in the period features that had been replaced with 60s stonework and anaglypta! We found Gary through this site and woy are we pleased we did. He always has a positive outlook, nothing is too much trouble, and most importantly he isn't pushy and doesn't give you the "hard sell" we hate that! Our renovation was just a few months before our wedding and my wife and I feel that we would have probably throttled each other in the stress of it all if it hadn't been for Gary and his son. We replasterd, laid hardwood floors though out, had a new boiler installed, opened up 2 chimney breasts to enable us to have open fires, new kitchen, new bathroom, moved mains drains to install a downstairs WC, new coving and put up picture rails.. the list goes on. They completed the majority of the works themselves and for other work they inlisted the help of other trusted tradesmen they knew. They still help us out now... we had a toilet blockage following our hen do.. the culprit was a toilet roll that was flushed down by one of our guests! Gary came right away while we were at work and identified and solved the problem through dismantling the soil pipe outside (not a pleasant job!) I can't imagine a more worthy recipient for this prize.
