alcove shelving with doors

I thought this was a straightforward job, shelves and doors in the alcoves on either side of the chimney breast. It turned into a beautifully designed and carefully fitted home improvement. The craftsman, Steve, is an experienced exhibitions installer, and his suggestions about little things, such as adjusting the depth of the cupboards to align with the wall, or making the shelves shallower, so that things didn't get lost, or the addition of LED lighting under the top shelves, all showed that he wanted to make the best possible job of a simple piece of work. The making of it was thorough and careful Each shelf had to be cut separately as the walls were not straight, and the shelves were, each, a box form, with invisible fittings. Strong enough for lots of books, they have stayed flat, and the they look super. Steve discussed with me the finish that, form his experience, works best, and I have since painted the whole thing with the same paint as the rest of the room. In a small room, this keeps it looking spacious. The work was carried out quickly, carefully, with no mess, and Steve and his apprentice (good to see apprenticeships being offered, and this lad will be learning from the best) were a pleasure to have in the house! Anyone using this company will be fortunate in getting someone trustworthy, careful and who makes sure the work is completed professionally.
