When I first saw James, I was immediately struck by how young he was, as this was our first face to face meeting, and I thought he cant have been qualified that long? But once we got talking he was concise and very informative about the job in hand I was asking him to quote on. I had had lots of other builders come to the house to give me quotes, and to be honest for their maturing ages, were not as knowledgeable as James, they just rushed the meeting and avoided some of my questions, whereas James answered all my questions, was very clear on what he could do, the time scale and never made me feel as if I was keeping him too long. He was very polite and said he would have a quote to me via email within two days. He was true to his word and his quote was also very professionally laid out, so we were left with no doubt as to how much his labour & materials were. He said the work would take two weeks (weather permitting) and it was completed in that time. He started promptly every day at 8am, finishing at 5pm and always tidied everything away. We couldn't have been happier with his work, commitment to his role and the respect he showed us and our beloved granite cottage. She now sports a lovely slate cover, new slate porch with decorative lead finishes and is the envy of our village in Cornwall (Minions). I duly self reprimanded myself, upon at first glance thinking 'surely this very young man, couldn't possible do the job we were requiring'? To now be very impressed and thankful for finding James on MyBuilder and now have a builder I will most definitely use again, as we have a 200 year old cottage and she will no doubt need his professional attention again. So losing James' details is not an option, as most know that finding a decent reliable builder is hard these days.
