As a complete novice on a budget doing up a house, I did not realise how much went into everything! I have unfortunately learnt a lot AFTER jobs have been completed (i.e. how I should have done something in the first place). One of these jobs was my kitchen tiling. I chose to have half of the wall tiled. Big mistake as the kitchen looked half done.
Anyway, being eager to correct one of my many novice mistakes before my first baby arrived, I posted a job on my builder. Scott was brilliant. He responded quickly and his quote was very reasonable. He even made some suggestions regarding the tiling, which made me wish I would have had Scott start the tiling in the first place. Anyhow, Scott arrived on time and did an excellent job finishing tiling my 'half done' metro tiles. Not thing was too much trouble for Scott as he had to remove some tiles to be able to neatly finish the job. Scott left zero mess, which I was very grateful for due to being heavily pregnant at the time. I was extremely pleased with the job and my kitchen now finally looks finished.
I think Scott deserves to win as he was professional, efficient and highly competent at his job, as shown by the high standard of work. He also did not judge me for my novice mistake, which I very much appreciated. People are usually quick to complain when a job goes wrong or is not up to scratch, however, people are less quick to praise good and highly competent tradesmen/women for great work. Scott is deserving of this praise and high recommendation, which is why he deserves to win.
