Jon Knowles

Feltham

Since buying our property six months ago we have been working on our garden during a particularly difficult winter. This is our first home and we are very much looking forward to making it a welcoming place for our family and friends of which we can be justly proud. Although we have managed to do a number of things, much remains to be done: the lawn needs substantial work to repair dry and bare patches and rid ourselves of unwelcome weeds; we need to relay weed protection sheets on the left hand beds and cover with slate chipping in addition to planting some vegetables in a patch we have earmarked at the end. I haven't been able to quite finish an area I paves with old bricks at the back, which we would like to turn into a more adventurous sun-trap patio and the near-end patio is rather dull with some ugly concrete pavers that need an imaginative solution. £1,000 and some professional creative advise would really get us somewhere ahead of those all-important family visits from Australia and Italy this Summer!
