Our garden is raised, making it higher than the level of the kitchen roof. It is then tiered, or supposed to be, in 2 stages, but the low dry stone walls and steps have collapsed and are now dangerous. Until 3 weeks ago we did not have a fence, rendering the garden unsafe for Milo, the cute little golden cocker spaniel in the picture! It has taken us the 18 months or so that we have lived in the house to afford the fence as so much work also needs doing on the house itself and we are trying to do it little by little, as and when we can afford it. That's why winning this prize would be so greatly appreciated. We would love the horrible old patio to be replaced, the crumbling end of the wall lining the patio (there is at least a 6 foot drop the other side!) to be made good and above all, the dry stone walls to be made safe, complete with steps and hand rails. Here's hoping, and thank you for the opportunity!
This competition is NOW CLOSED.
In 2013, we congratulated Jon Mason of Beaworthy in Devon, who won a grand for his garden after notching up 765 votes from the public. Jon beat over 200 other entrants to win the prize and was selected from a shortlist of 12 by the MyBuilder team.
