Natalie Freeman

Leeds

I am nominating my sister as it would mean the world to her to have a garden that she can enjoy and relax in. Having struggled for a long time with mental illness she was finally diagnosed with ptsd which was exacerbated by then suffering with post natal depression with her first baby. The last 10 years have been more than incredibly difficult and I know that at times life has felt unbearable. But being the incredible person she is she has battled on and has recently discovered that being in the garden and attempting do do some gardening which has proved difficult considering the mammoth task that it is, has offered some relief from the stress and anxiety bought on by ptsd. Unfortunately the garden is too much for either her or my brother in law to get a handle on and it would make the world of difference if my sister and my two young nieces had a safe place in which to relax and have fun as being on her own most of the day while her husband is at work can often make it difficult to get out and about as it can be just too overwhelming going out on her own with the children. My eldest niece has a lot of energy and it would be great for her to have a garden she can play in.
