...living in a tiny two-bedroom house with two young children that has no dining room or play room and a shared children's bedroom, our outside living area is our dining room, play space, and workshop all rolled into one, however it's missing many key features that make an ordinary outside space, a special all-year-round place. Like many families with young children, keeping the little ones happy and occupied is a challenge, and not simply financially. Our hyperactive son has some learning/emotional difficulties, and relishes outside time, and like many youngsters, would hugely benefit from a variety of outside play equipment; things that help him use up countless energy reserves, release his frustrations, and challenge his physical boundaries, while our daughter is a stereotypical girly-girl and loves flowers... which our garden simply lacks.
- We even have to eat our Christmas dinner in the shed, because our house is too small!
