My garden needs a makeover because I have 3 children with special needs. My older 2 have autism and Adhd and Charlie, my youngest daughter has complex needs including a brain disorder called neuronal migration disorder/ band heterotopia. This is where 3 areas of her brain developed incorrectly during pregnancy, which leaves Charlie with significant learning delays, epilepsy, low muscle tone, unable to talk, walk and she is tube fed. She also was born with bilateral cataracts, is registered severely sight impaired and had major heart surgery at 10 weeks old to repair her narrow aorta.
Charlie has spent many months of her life in hospital and at one point was visiting 5 different hospitals to help diagnose and treat her many conditions.
Charlie is a lovely, happy and bubbly little girl who loves being outdoors. She enjoys walks into town with her school, especially being pushed over different textures in her wheelchair, like cobbles.
I would love to give Charlie and her sisters a safe, secure and colourful garden space with different colours, smells and textures to aid with their needs and development but, as a single mum, struggle to do so on my own.
The 20th of May is also my 33rd Birthday and winning this prize would be the best birthday present ever!!

Ann is a fantastic mum she takes everything in her stride and although she is caring 24 hrs a day she is always smiling, it would be amazing and they would all enjoy the pleasure of a beautiful new garden
