Our garden would love a makeover to make it more user friendly for my husband, who I love with all my heart. He had a stroke on 17th December 2017, and will hopefully be discharged from hospital beginning of June. I would love if we won this competition to give him something lovely to come home to.
Our garden has a fantastic view of the moray firth / inverness, but unfortunately due to the layout of the garden (uneven surfaces),my husband won't be able to get out and enjoy it much in the good weather. It would be a dream come true to have a garden makeover / disabled friendly (and also still keep the range of colours of flowers that I grow in tubs to brighten up the garden). I've even started a collection of garden ornamental hedgehogs and displaying them around the garden to give my husband something to look for (mental stimulation). Last year my husband was an HGV driver, this year he is out of work. The stroke has left him with a left sided weakness and he has only half a right hand as a result of an action when he was in the army. We never celebrated Christmas last year, my birthday in January, our wedding anniversary in January or his 59th birthday in march as he's in hospital. Having a lovely garden that he would be able to safely move around in and sit in and enjoy the sights and sounds of the garden would be life changing. It could also be the special place to hold our still to be held joint celebrations, along with all our friends and family who have kept us going with their love and support to date. Thank you for reading my request. Regards. Dianne.
