Sophie Gault

Birmingham

my Daughter was born with a rare condition which caused her to have no eyelids and many other complex needs resulting in needing a tracheostomy to help her breathe. We spent the first two years of her life in hospital this was very hard as I have a older daughter who was nearly three at the time so I never had time to fit gardening in around being at hospital and being with my eldest too. Finally Amelia was allowed home she is 24 hour care which means we can not leave her side just In case her tracheotomy comes out and she stops breathing. Years flew by and with Amelia and the eldest Krystal we couldn’t find time to create a nice garden. Amelia started walking and getting around which became more of a handful as she’s constant supervision. Amelia goes to school now and enjoys the outdoors playing with other kids, our garden is not suitable for Amelia as it overgrown and has steps to access the garden which makes it hard for Amelia. I would love a special place for Amelia which is hers outside so she can enjoy her own outside personal space.
